TERRY COUNTY HERITAGE MUSEUM

The Terry County Historical
Committee organized a meeting
of 96 interested citizens
in February 1970. From that
meeting, the Terry County
Heritage Museum Association
was formed and officers were
elected. Mr. A.M. Brownfield
had left his home to the City
of Brownfield and the Museum
Association leased the building
and grounds for $1.00 per
year. The Terry County Heritage
Museum opened to the
public in February 1975.
Today, its mission is to gather, preserve
and display meaningful artifacts depicting
the history of Terry County. Preservation of
this history is for the education and the enjoyment
of the current and future residents
and its visitors. Terry County, the City of
Brownfield and the Brownfield Chamber of
Commerce each provide funding annually
so that it may operate today.
Make plans to visit and see the museum for yourself!
